ISG System Malfunction

~1min read

The system does not operate if:

- There is a problem with the ISG sensors or the ISG system.

The yellow AUTO STOP indicator () on the instrument cluster flashes for approximately 5 seconds, then stays on continuously, and the indicator on the ISG OFF button illuminates.

NOTICE

  • If the ISG OFF indicator illuminates and does not go out after pressing the ISG OFF button, or if the ISG system still does not operate properly, have your vehicle inspected as soon as possible at a qualified workshop. Kia recommends contacting a Kia dealer/service partner.
  • The ISG OFF indicator may go out if you drive for no more than 2 hours faster than 80 km/h or if you drive with the fan speed control set above the 2nd position. If the ISG OFF indicator remains on after pressing the ISG OFF button, have your vehicle inspected as soon as possible at a qualified workshop. Kia recommends contacting a Kia dealer/service partner.

NOTICE

If the ISG function is not used for about 4 hours with the ignition switch off, the battery sensor must be recalibrated. Turn the ignition switch on, then start the engine two or three times.

WARNING

If the engine is in ISG mode, the engine may restart without any action by the driver. Before exiting the vehicle or working in the engine compartment, stop the engine and turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (OFF) position or remove the ignition key.
