Lane Keep Assist (LKA)

The Lane Keeping Assist System (LKA) detects lane markings on the road with a front camera mounted on the windshield and assists the driver with steering to keep the vehicle within its lane.

If the system detects that the vehicle is leaving its lane, it warns the driver with visual and audible warnings and at the same time applies slight steering torque to help prevent the vehicle from drifting out of the lane.

• Avoid sudden steering movements while the LKA system is monitoring the steering wheel.
• The LKA helps prevent the driver from unintentionally leaving the lane and assists the driver's steering. However, the system is only a convenience feature and does not fully take over steering. The driver should keep their hands on the steering wheel and watch the road while driving.
• The LKA system may be deactivated or may not function properly depending on road and surrounding conditions. Therefore, always stay alert while driving.

WARNING

• Do not remove the front camera temporarily or attach tinted window film, any type of coating, or accessories. If you remove and reinstall the camera, have your vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer to verify the system and perform any necessary calibration.
• If you replace the windshield, front camera, or steering parts, have your vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer to verify the system and perform any necessary calibration.
• The system detects lane markings. Steering control is performed by the front camera. If lane markings are difficult to detect, system performance may not be correct. Always stay alert when using the system.
• If lane markings are difficult to detect, refer to the information under "What the driver should be aware of" on page 6-88.

• Do not place light-reflective objects such as mirrors or white paper on the instrument panel, as they may cause the LKA system to malfunction when sunlight is reflected.
• Bei übermäßig hoher Audiolautstärke hören Sie möglicherweise nicht den Warnton des LKA-Systems.
• While other audible warnings with higher priority are sounding, such as the seat belt reminder warning, LKA audible warnings will not be issued.
• At excessive speeds, the steering torque of the system is not large enough to keep your vehicle within the lane. In this case, your vehicle may leave the lane. Keep your speed limited when using the LKA system.
• If you attach objects to the steering wheel, the system may not be able to assist with steering.
• If you attach objects to the steering wheel, the hands-off steering wheel warning may not function properly.
