Check the parking brake

Check the parking brake lever travel by counting the number of clicks you hear when pulling the lever up from the released position. The parking brake alone must hold the vehicle on a safe, steep slope. If the travel is more or less than specified, have the system inspected at a specialized workshop. Kia recommends visiting a Kia dealer/service partner.

Travel: 5~7 clicks, with a pulling force of 196 N (20 kg).
