Maintenance Work

Exercise great care when performing maintenance work and inspections to prevent damage to the vehicle and injury.

You must keep all records showing that maintenance work listed in the maintenance schedules on the following pages has been performed correctly.

You will need these records to prove compliance with the required maintenance intervals in the event of a warranty claim.

Detailed warranty information can be found in your Warranty and Maintenance Booklet.

The warranty for your vehicle does not cover repairs and adjustments required as a result of improper or missed maintenance.

• Performing maintenance on any vehicle can be dangerous. Certain maintenance operations involve a risk of serious injury. If you lack the knowledge, experience, or suitable tools to perform the work, have it performed by a qualified workshop. Kia recommends visiting a Kia dealer/service partner.
• Working under the hood with the engine running is dangerous. It becomes even more dangerous if you wear jewelry or loose clothing. You may get caught in rotating components and be seriously injured. If you must work under the hood with the engine running, remove all jewelry (especially rings, bracelets, watches, necklaces and earrings) before starting work. Also remove loose clothing (e.g., neckties, scarves and shawls) before approaching the running engine or the cooling fans.

• To inspect the fuel system (fuel lines and fuel injection system), contact a qualified workshop. Kia recommends visiting a Kia dealer/service partner.
• Fahren Sie nicht über längere Zeit mit ausgebauter Motorabdeckung (ausstattungsabhängig).
• Keep all flames away when inspecting the engine compartment. Fuel, washer fluid, etc. are flammable fluids that can cause a fire.
• Before touching the battery, ignition cables, or electrical wiring, disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. You may receive an electric shock.
• When removing the interior trim, be careful not to damage the cover with a flat-blade screwdriver.
• When replacing and cleaning bulbs, be careful not to get an electric shock.
