brake/clutch fluid

Brake / Clutch Fluid Level Check

Check the brake fluid reservoir level regularly. The level should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the side of the reservoir.

Before removing the reservoir cap, clean the area around the cap carefully so that brake/clutch fluid does not get contaminated.

If the level is too low, top up the reservoir to the MAX mark. The fluid level drops as mileage increases. This is normal and depends on brake pad wear.

If the level is unusually low, have the system inspected at a specialized workshop. Kia recommends visiting a Kia dealer/service partner.

Use only the specified clutch fluid. (Refer to "Recommended Lubricants and Fill Capacities" on page 9-10.)

Never mix different hydraulic fluids.

WARNING

Brake/Clutch Fluid Leak

If the brake/clutch system requires frequent topping up, have the vehicle inspected at a specialized workshop. Kia recommends visiting a Kia dealer/service partner.

WARNING

brake/clutch fluid

Be careful when replacing and topping up brake/clutch fluid. Avoid any eye contact. If brake or clutch fluid gets into your eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean tap water. Have your eyes examined by a doctor immediately.

DANGER

Do not let brake/clutch fluid drain onto vehicle paint, as it will damage the paint. Brake/clutch fluid that has been exposed to air for a long time (for example, if the container was not closed) must never be used, as it no longer has the required properties. It must be disposed of properly. Do not mix in incorrect fluids. Even a minimal amount of mineral oil (for example, engine oil) in the brake/clutch system can damage brake and clutch system components.
