Fuses

Rechte Seite: Durchgebrant
The vehicle's electrical system is protected against overload by fuses.
This vehicle has two (or three) fuse boxes: one under the dashboard on the driver's side, the others in the engine compartment near the battery.
If any of the lights, accessories or controls of your vehicle do not function, check the corresponding fuse. If a fuse has blown, the element inside the fuse will have melted.
If the electrical system does not work, first check the fuse box on the driver's side. Before replacing a blown fuse, disconnect the negative battery cable.
Always replace a blown fuse with a fuse of the same rating.
If the replacement fuse also blows, this indicates a problem in the electrical system. Avoid operating the affected system and contact a qualified workshop immediately. Kia recommends contacting a Kia dealer/service partner.
Three types of fuses are used: blade fuses for lower currents, cartridge fuses and multi-fuses for higher currents.
WARNING
Sicherungen ersetzen
- Always replace a fuse only with a fuse of the same rating.
- Eine Sicherung mit höherer Nennleistung könnte Schäden und möglicherweise einen Brand verursachen.
- Never use wire or aluminum foil in place of a proper fuse, not even as a temporary repair. This could cause serious damage to the electrical system and may lead to a fire.
WARNING
- Before replacing fuses, turn the ignition to "OFF", switch off all electrical devices and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- The label on the fuse/relay box may differ depending on equipment.
WARNING
- When replacing a blown fuse or relay with a new component, make sure the new fuse or relay is firmly seated in its clips. Fuses or relays that are not seated correctly can cause damage to the wiring and electrical system of the vehicle and possibly a fire.
- Do not remove fuses, relays, or terminals that are secured with screws or nuts. The fuses, relays, and terminals may be incompletely secured, which may lead to a fire. If fuses, relays, or connectors secured with screws or nuts are loose, contact a qualified workshop. Kia recommends contacting a Kia dealer/service partner.
- Do not insert any other objects, such as screwdrivers or wires, into the fuse/relay terminals. This may cause a contact failure and system malfunction.
- Do not insert screwdrivers or accessory wiring into terminals intended only for fuses and relays. The vehicle interior electrical system and wiring may be damaged or burned due to contact failure.
- When connecting directly to the wiring at the rear light, or when using a replacement bulb with higher power consumption than specified, e.g. when towing a trailer, may cause damage to the interior junction block and electrical components.
WARNING
Check the battery cap visually to make sure it is securely closed. If the battery cap is not securely closed, moisture may enter the system and damage electrical components.
WARNING
Die eigenmächtige Verkabelung bei der Nachrüstung von Geräten ist verboten
Unauthorized wiring in the vehicle may cause malfunctions and impair vehicle performance. Unauthorized wiring, especially when retrofitting AVN or anti-theft alarm systems, remote engine starters, car telephones, or radios, may damage the vehicle and cause fire.
WARNING
Modifications are prohibited.
Do not attempt to modify the vehicle. This is not permitted and may impair vehicle performance, service life, and safety. In addition, problems caused by modifications are not covered by the warranty. Consider the safety risks of modifying the vehicle with unapproved electrical devices (lights, black boxes, electric generators, diagnostic devices, communication devices, etc.). Modifications may cause vehicle malfunctions, wiring damage, battery discharge, and damage to electrical connections and fire.
WARNING
Precautions When Tinting Windows
Window tinting (especially metallic films) may cause communication problems, poor radio reception, and malfunctions of the automatic lighting system, as well as sudden changes in interior lighting. The solution used may also damage electrical and electronic components and cause malfunctions and defects.
