Always check the area around your vehicle for people, especially children, before shifting into D (Drive) or R (Reverse).
WARNING
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Drinking and driving is dangerous. Drivers under the influence cause an extremely large number of fatal accidents. Even a small amount of alcohol impairs your reflexes, perception and judgment. Driving a vehicle under the influence of drugs is at least as dangerous as, if not more dangerous than, driving under the influence of alcohol.
The probability of being involved in a serious accident is significantly higher if you drink alcohol or take drugs and then drive.
If you drink alcohol or take drugs, do not drive. Do not ride with a driver who has been drinking alcohol or taking drugs. Choose a designated driver or take a taxi.
WARNING
- If you want to keep the vehicle running while stationary, do not keep the accelerator pedal depressed for a long time. The engine or exhaust system may otherwise overheat and cause a fire.
- If you stop suddenly or turn the steering wheel sharply, objects on the floor may roll under the pedals, interfere with pedal operation and could cause an accident. Make sure all objects in the vehicle are secured.
- If you do not concentrate on driving, an accident may result. Be careful when operating equipment that may distract you while driving, such as the audio system or heater. The driver is always responsible for safe driving.
