All-Season Tires, Summer Tires, Winter Tires
All-Season Tires
Kia equips some models with all-season tires to provide good performance for year-round use, including snowy and icy road conditions. All-season tires are identified by ALL SEASON and/or M+S (mud and snow) on the tire sidewall. Winter tires have better traction on snow than all-season tires and may be more suitable in some areas.
Summer Tires
Kia equips some models with summer tires to provide superior performance on dry roads. The performance of summer tires is significantly reduced on snow and ice. Summer tires do not have the M+S (mud and snow) traction rating on the tire sidewall. If you plan to drive your vehicle in snowy or icy conditions, Kia recommends using winter tires or all-season tires on all four wheels.
Winter Tires
If you equip your vehicle with winter tires, they must be the same size and have the same load rating as the original tires. Winter tires should be installed on all four wheels; otherwise, handling may be adversely affected. Winter tires should be inflated to 28 kPa (4 psi) above the recommended pressure for standard tires, as shown on the tire placard on the driver's side B-pillar, or to the maximum pressure stated on the tire sidewall, whichever is lower. Do not drive faster than 120 km/h when your vehicle is equipped with winter tires.
WARNING
Do not use summer tires when temperatures are below 7 °C or when driving on snow or ice. At temperatures below 7 °C, summer tires may lose flexibility and, therefore, traction and braking performance. Replace the tires on your vehicle with winter or all-season tires of the same size as the original tires. Both types of tires are marked M+S (Mud and Snow). Using summer tires at very low temperatures may cause cracking, which will permanently damage the tire.
