Recommended Cold Tire Pressure

~1min read

Check the pressure of all tires (including the spare) when the tires are cold. "Cold tires" means the vehicle has not been driven for at least three hours or has been driven less than 1.6 km (1 mile).

The recommended pressure must be maintained for better ride, better vehicle handling, and minimum tire wear.

For the recommended inflation pressure, refer to "Tires and Wheels" in Chapter 8.

All specifications (sizes and pressures) can be found on the label attached to the driver's side center pillar.

WARNING - Insufficient Tire Pressure

Inflate tires according to the instructions in this manual. Severe underinflation (70 kPa (10 psi) or more) can cause excessive heat build-up, resulting in tire breaks, tread separation, and other tire failures that may lead to loss of vehicle control. This risk is much greater in hot weather and when driving at high speeds for extended periods.

Failure to maintain the specified pressure may result in excessive wear, poor handling, reduced fuel economy, deformation of the tire and/or wheel, harsh ride, increased vulnerability to road hazards, or tire failure.
