1. Condenser

Description and Operation

Description

The cluster ionizer sterilizes and removes unpleasant odors from the air conditioner or ventilation air. It also purifies the air inside the vehicle.

When the ignition switch is ON, the ionizer operates in the "CLEAN" mode, then switches between the "CLEAN" and "ION" modes.

In the "CLEAN" mode, the cluster ionizer generates negative ions and positive ions to help remove odors from the air.

In the "ION" mode, the cluster ionizer generates negative ions and purifies the air inside the vehicle.

Repair Procedures

Inspection

  1. Press the MODE switch more than 4 times within 2 seconds while pressing the OFF switch at the same time.

Replacement

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

  2. Remove the air bag center panel.

    (Refer to Body - "Center Crash Pad Panel")

  3. Loosen the mounting screw, then remove the passenger side duct (A).

  4. Disconnect the cluster ionizer connector (A).

  5. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the cluster ionizer (B).

  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
