Heated Washer Nozzle

~1min read

The washer nozzle heater prevents the washer nozzles from freezing in cold weather.

The washer nozzle heater turns on and turns off automatically when the ignition switch is in the ON position or when the engine is running under the following conditions:

- Turns on when the outside air temperature is below 5 °C, and off when above 10°C.
- The washer fluid may defrost more slowly when the ignition is ON than when the engine is running.
- When the ignition is ON for 20 minutes, the system will turn off automatically to prevent possible battery discharge.
- After starting the engine, the washer fluid will defrost after 5 to 10 minutes.
- If the engine was started at operating temperature, the washer nozzle heater remains on even after 20 minutes.

NOTICE

Under the following conditions, the heated washer nozzle may not operate properly.

- The washer fluid in the washer reservoir is frozen.
- The outside air temperature sensor is malfunctioning.
