Windshield Washers (Front)

~1min read

In the O (OFF) position, gently pull the lever toward you to spray washer fluid onto the windshield and operate the wipers for 1 to 3 cycles.

Use this function when the windshield is dirty.

The washer and wiper operation will continue until you release the lever.

If the washer does not operate, check the washer fluid level. If the fluid level is low, add an appropriate non-abrasive windshield washer fluid to the washer reservoir.

The washer reservoir filler neck is located at the front of the engine compartment on the passenger side.

CAUTION

To avoid possible damage to the washer pump, do not operate the washer when the fluid reservoir is empty.

WARNING

Do not use the washer when the temperature is freezing without first warming the windshield with the defroster; the washer fluid may freeze on the windshield and obstruct your view.

CAUTION

  • To avoid possible damage to the wiper blades or windshield, do not operate the wipers when the windshield is dry.
  • To prevent damage to the wiper blades, do not use gasoline, kerosene, paint thinner, or other solvents on or near them.
  • To avoid damage to the wiper arms and other components, do not try to move the wipers by hand.
  • To avoid possible damage to the wipers and washer, use antifreeze washer fluid in winter or cold weather.
