~1min read
The system is disarmed when:
Transmitter
- The door unlock button is pressed.
- The engine is started.
- The ignition switch is kept in the "ON" position for at least 30 seconds.
Smart key
- The door unlock button is pressed.
- The button built into the outside door handle is pressed while carrying the smart key.
- The engine is started.
Once the unlock button is pressed, the hazard warning lights will flash twice to indicate that the system is disarmed.
If no door (or the tailgate) is opened within 30 seconds after pressing the unlock button, the system rearms.
NOTE - Immobiliser deactivation
- Do not attempt to start the engine when the alarm is activated. During the alarm activation stage, the starter motor is disabled.
NOTE - System with immobiliser
- If the system is not disarmed with the remote transmitter, insert the key into the ignition switch and start the engine. The system will be deactivated.
- If the keys are lost, contact an authorised Kia dealer.
Malfunctions caused by tampering, attempted adjustments or modifications to the anti-theft alarm system are not covered by the vehicle manufacturer's warranty.
