Armed Stage

Using the Smart Key

Park the vehicle and turn off the engine. Activate the system as described below.

1. Turn the engine off.

2. Make sure that all doors (and tailgate) and the hood are closed and locked.

3. • Lock the doors by pressing the button on the outside handle of the front door with the smart key in your possession.

After completing the above steps, the hazard warning lights will flash once to indicate that the system is armed.

If any door remains open, the doors will not lock and the horn will sound for 3 seconds. Close the door and try locking the doors again.

If the tailgate or hood remains open, the hazard warning lights will not operate and the alarm will not activate. After this, if the tailgate and hood are closed, the hazard warning lights will flash once.

• Lock the doors by pressing the lock button on the smart key.

After completing the above steps, the hazard warning lights will flash once to indicate that the system is armed.

If any door (and trunk/tailgate) or the hood remains open, the warning light will not operate and the alarm will not activate. After this, if all doors (and trunk/tailgate) and the engine hood are closed, the hazard warning lights will flash once.

Using the Transmitter

Park the vehicle and turn off the engine. Activate the system as described below.

1. Turn off the engine and remove the ignition key from the ignition switch.

2. Make sure that all doors (and the tailgate) and the hood are closed and locked.

3. Lock the doors by pressing the lock button on the transmitter. After completing the above steps, the hazard warning lights will flash once to indicate that the system is armed.

If any door (or the tailgate) or the hood is left open, the hazard warning lights will not operate and the alarm will not activate. After that, if all doors (and the tailgate) and the hood are closed, the hazard warning lights will flash once.

• Do not arm the system until all passengers have left the vehicle. If the system is armed while passengers remain in the vehicle, the alarm may activate when the remaining passengers leave the vehicle. If any door, the tailgate or the hood is opened within 30 seconds after entering armed mode, the system is disarmed to prevent an unnecessary alarm.
