Hood Closing

~1min read

1. Before closing the hood, check the following:

  • All engine compartment filler caps must be installed correctly.
  • Gloves, rags, and any other flammable materials must be removed from the engine compartment.

2. Return the support rod to its clip so that it does not rattle.

3. Lower the hood until it is about 30 cm (1 ft) above the fully closed position, then let it drop. Make sure it latches securely.

4. Check that the hood is properly latched. If the hood can be raised slightly, it is not latched properly. Open it again and close it with a little more force.

WARNING. Fire Hazard.

Do not leave gloves, rags, or other flammable materials in the engine compartment. This may cause a fire.
