A warning message will appear on the LCD display when the hood is open.

The warning chime will sound when the vehicle is driven at a speed of 3 km/h (2 mph) or higher with the hood open.

WARNING - Unlatched Hood

Always check that the hood is securely latched before driving. If it is not latched, the hood may open while the vehicle is moving and block your view, which may result in a traffic accident.

CAUTION

Before closing the hood, make sure all obstacles are removed from the engine compartment and surrounding body sheet metal. Closing the hood with an obstacle present may cause damage to the engine, sheet metal, or the obstructing objects.

WARNING

The support rod must be fully inserted into its holder whenever you inspect the engine compartment. This will prevent the hood from falling and possibly injuring you.
