To close the liftgate, lower it and push firmly on the liftgate. Make sure the liftgate is securely latched.

Make sure your hands, feet and other body parts are clear of the area before closing the trunk lid.

WARNING! Closing the Power Liftgate

Make sure nothing is near the liftgate latch and striker when closing the liftgate. This may damage the liftgate latch.

WARNING - Exhaust Gas

If you drive with the rear hatch open, you will draw dangerous exhaust gases into the vehicle, which may result in serious injury or death to the vehicle occupants.

If you must drive with the tailgate open, do not close the vents and all windows so that additional outside air enters the vehicle.

WARNING - Riding in the Cargo Area

Passengers should never ride in the cargo area where no restraints are available. To avoid injury in an accident or sudden stop, passengers must always be properly secured.
