Vehicle running-in procedure

~1min read

No special running-in period is required. By observing the following simple precautions during the first 1,000 km (600 miles), you can improve performance, reduce fuel consumption and extend the service life of your vehicle.

  • Do not overwork the engine.
  • While driving, keep the engine speed between 2,000 and 4,000 rpm (revolutions per minute).
  • Do not maintain one speed for long periods. Vary your speed by slowing down and accelerating. Varying engine speed is necessary for proper running-in.
  • Avoid sudden braking, except in emergency situations, so that the brakes can bed in properly.
  • Do not tow a trailer during the first 2,000 km (1,200 miles).
