Operation of the Keyless Remote Entry System

Lock (1)

All doors (and hood, trunk/tailgate) lock when the lock button is pressed. If all doors (and hood, trunk/tailgate) are closed, the hazard warning lights flash once and the horn sounds once, indicating that all doors (and hood, trunk/tailgate) are locked.

In addition, if the lock button is pressed again within 4 seconds, the hazard warning lights will flash and the horn will sound once, confirming that the door is locked. (If equipped)

However, if any door remains open, the hazard warning lights (and/or horn) will not operate. But if all doors are closed after pressing the lock button, the hazard warning lights will flash once.

Unlock (2)

The driver's door unlocks when the unlock button is pressed once. The hazard warning lights flash twice and the horn sounds twice, indicating that the driver's door is unlocked.

All doors unlock if the unlock button is pressed again within 4 seconds. The hazard warning lights flash twice (with the smart key, the horn also sounds) once more, indicating that all doors are unlocked. After this button is pressed, the doors will lock automatically if you do not open any door within 30 seconds.

If you try to lock or unlock the doors by pressing the door lock/unlock button in any of the following conditions, the door will neither lock nor unlock.

- When you want to lock or unlock the door while the ignition switch is in ACC or ON.
- When you want to lock the door of a vehicle with one or more doors open.

Depending on the vehicle, the driver can turn the TWO-STEP UNLOCK function on or off. Refer to the settings function.

✽ NOTICE

If the keyless entry system does not operate due to exposure to water or liquids, it is not covered by the vehicle manufacturer's warranty.

Trunk open (3)

The trunk opens if the button is pressed for more than 1 second.

Liftgate Unlock (3)

The liftgate unlocks when the button is pressed for more than 1 second.

However, after pressing this button, the liftgate will lock automatically unless you open the liftgate within 30 seconds.

In addition, when the liftgate is opened and then closed, it will lock automatically.

Alarm (4)

The horn will sound and the hazard warning lights will flash for approximately 30 seconds if the button is pressed for more than 0.5 seconds. To turn off the horn and lights, press any button on the transmitter.
