Transmitter precautions

The transmitter (or smart key) will not operate in the following cases:

• The ignition key is in the ignition switch.
• You have exceeded the operating range limit (approximately 30 m [90 ft]).
• The transmitter (or smart key) battery is discharged.
• Other vehicles or objects may block the signal.
• The weather is very cold.
• The transmitter (or smart key) is near a radio transmitter, such as a broadcasting station or airport, which may interfere with normal transmitter operation.

If the transmitter (or smart key) does not operate properly, open and close the door with the ignition key. If there is a problem with the transmitter (or smart key), contact an authorized Kia dealer.

• If the transmitter is in close proximity to your mobile phone or smartphone, the signal from the transmitter may be blocked by normal operation of your mobile phone or smartphone. This is especially important when the phone is active, for example when making calls, receiving calls, sending text messages and/or sending/receiving emails.

Avoid placing the transmitter and a mobile phone or smartphone together in the same place, such as a trouser or jacket pocket, and keep a sufficient distance between the two devices.

This device complies with Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standard(s).

Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

(1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and
(2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device.
