Repair Procedures
Removal
Remove the cylinder head cover.
(Refer to Cylinder Head Assembly - "Cylinder Head Cover")
Turn the crankshaft pulley and align its groove with the timing mark on the timing chain cover to set the No. 1 cylinder piston to top dead center on the compression stroke.

Remove the timing chain cover.
(See Valve Timing - "Timing Chain Cover")
Before removing the timing chain, mark the timing chain with an identification mark according to the sprocket position (CVVT), because the TDC (Top Dead Center) mark on the chain may be worn off.

Remove the timing chain camshaft guide (A).

Remove the timing chain crankshaft guide (A).

Remove the timing chain automatic tensioner (A) and tensioner arm (B).

Remove the timing chain (A).

Remove the timing chain guide (A).

Remove the crankshaft sprocket (A).

Inspection
sprockets, chain tensioner, chain guide, chain tensioner arm
Inspect the camshaft sprocket and crankshaft sprocket for excessive wear, cracks, or damage. Replace if necessary.
Inspect the tensioner arm and chain guide for excessive wear, cracks, or damage. Replace if necessary.
Make sure the tensioner piston moves smoothly.
Installation
Position the crankshaft key at approximately 3.7° from the horizontal centerline. As a result, the No. 1 cylinder piston is at top dead center on the compression stroke.

Install the crankshaft sprocket (A).

Align the camshaft sprocket (CVVT) mark with the mark on the upper surface of the cylinder head. As a result, the No. 1 cylinder piston is at top dead center on the compression stroke.

Install the timing chain guide (A).
Tightening torque: 18.6 – 22 N·m

Install the timing chain (A).

Install the timing chain automatic tensioner (A) and tensioner arm (B).
Tightening Torque: 9.8–11.8 N·m

Remove the stopper pin from the timing chain automatic tensioner (A).

Install the timing chain crankshaft guide (A).
Tightening Torque: 9.8–11.8 N·m

Install the timing chain camshaft guide (A).
Tightening Torque: 9.8–11.8 N·m

After rotating the crankshaft 2 turns in the normal direction (clockwise when viewed from the front), verify the timing.
Install the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal.
