First secure the child restraint system using the LATCH lower anchors (rear outboard seats only) or the seat belt, as applicable.

  1. Lift the cover 1 from the anchor point located directly behind the child restraint system.
  2. Place the upper tether strap over the top of the head restraint 2 .
  3. Attach the tether strap hook to the tether anchor point on the rear shelf
  4. Refer to the appropriate steps in the child restraint system installation procedure in this section before tightening the upper tether strap.
