The Intelligent Key only functions when it is within the range of request switch 1.

When the Intelligent Key battery is depleted or strong radio waves are transmitted nearby, the range of the Intelligent Key system is reduced and the Intelligent Key may not function properly.

The range is 80 cm (31.5 in) from each request switch 1.

If the Intelligent Key is too close to the door glass, door handle or rear bumper, the request switches may not function.

When the Intelligent Key is within the proper range, even a person who does not have the key in their possession can press the request switch to lock or unlock the doors.
