Environment

~2min read

Your vehicle has been designed with the aim of respecting the environment throughout its service life: during manufacture, during use and at end of life.

This commitment is reflected in the manufacturer's eco³ signature.

Manufacturing

Your vehicle is manufactured at an industrial site that applies continuous improvement programmes to reduce its environmental impact on local residents and nature (reduction of water and energy consumption, visual and noise nuisance, atmospheric and water discharges, sorting and recovery of waste).

Emissions

During use, your vehicle has been designed to emit fewer greenhouse gases (CO2), and therefore consume less (e.g. 140 g/km is equivalent to 5.3 l/100 km for a diesel vehicle).

In addition, vehicles are fitted with emissions control systems such as the catalytic converter, lambda sensor and activated charcoal filter (the latter prevents petrol vapours from the fuel tank being released into the air). On certain diesel vehicles, this system is supplemented by a particulate filter to reduce soot particle emissions.

You too can help protect the environment

  • Worn parts replaced during routine vehicle maintenance (battery, oil filter, air filter, batteries, etc.) and oil containers (empty or containing used oil) must be taken to specialist collection points.
  • End-of-life vehicles must be taken to approved centres to ensure they are recycled.
  • In all cases, comply with local laws.

Recycling

Your vehicle is 85% recyclable and 95% recoverable.

To achieve these targets, many vehicle parts have been designed to allow their recycling. Architectures and materials have been specially studied to facilitate the dismantling of these components and their processing through dedicated channels.

To conserve raw materials, this vehicle incorporates many parts made from recycled plastics or renewable materials (plant or animal materials such as cotton or wool, respectively).
