Parking assistance
Operating principle
Ultrasonic sensors, located (depending on the vehicle) in the rear bumper, "measure" the distance between the vehicle and an obstacle.
This measurement is conveyed by audible signals whose frequency increases as the obstacle gets closer, until it becomes a continuous tone when the obstacle is about 30 centimeters from the vehicle.
Note: make sure the ultrasonic sensors are not obstructed (dirt, mud, snow, etc.).

Note: depending on the vehicle, screen 1 shows the vehicle's surroundings in addition to the audible signals.
This feature is an additional aid that indicates, by means of audible signals, the distance between the vehicle and an obstacle when maneuvering.
It must therefore never replace the driver's vigilance or responsibility during manoeuvres.
The driver must always be alert to sudden events that may occur while driving: always make sure there are no moving obstacles (such as a child, an animal, a stroller, a bicycle...) or obstacles that are too small or too thin (medium-sized stone, very thin post...) when maneuvering.
Operation

When reverse gear is engaged, most objects located within approximately 1.20 meters of the rear of the vehicle are detected, an audible signal sounds and, depending on the vehicle, the display 1 lights up.
Adjusting the parking assist volume

Depending on the vehicle, you can adjust certain settings from the touch screen 1. Refer to the equipment user manual for more information.
Deactivating the system

Press switch 2 to deactivate the system.
The indicator light built into the switch comes on to remind you that the system is deactivated.
Pressing it again will reactivate the system and the indicator light will go out.
Depending on the vehicle, you can deactivate the parking assist from the touch screen. Refer to the equipment user manual for more information.
Malfunction
Depending on the vehicle, when the system detects an operating fault, the message "Parking assist to be checked" is displayed on the instrument panel, along with the indicator light
and an audible signal sounds for approximately 5 seconds. Consult a Brand Representative.
If the underbody of the vehicle is struck during a manoeuvre (for example against a kerb, a raised pavement or any other street furniture), you may damage the vehicle (for example, bending an axle).
To avoid any risk of an accident, have your vehicle checked by a Brand Representative.
