Seat belts
For your safety, wear your seat belt on every journey. You must also comply with the local legislation of the country in which you are travelling.
For the rear seat belts to be fully effective, make sure the rear seat is locked in place.Refer to the section "Rear seat: features" in chapter 3.
Seat belts that are incorrectly adjusted or twisted may cause injury in an accident.Use a seat belt for one person only, child or adult.
Even pregnant women must wear their seat belt. In this case, make sure the lap belt does not press too hard on the lower abdomen, without creating additional slack.Before starting, first adjust the driving position, then, for all occupants, adjust the seat belt for the best protection.
Adjusting the driving position
- Sit well back in your seat (after removing your coat, jacket...). This is essential for correct back positioning;
- adjust the seat forward or backward according to the pedals. Your seat must be moved back as far as possible while still allowing the clutch pedal to be fully depressed. The backrest must be adjusted so that your arms remain slightly bent;
- adjust your headrest position.

Seat belt fitting
Sit firmly back against the backrest.
The shoulder belt 1 must be positioned as close as possible to the base of the neck, without resting on it.
The lap belt 2 must lie flat across the thighs and against the pelvis.
The belt must sit as directly as possible on the body. E.g.: avoid thick clothing and objects placed between the belt and the body...

Latching
Unroll the belt slowly and smoothly and make sure the latch tongue 3 clicks into the buckle 5 (check that it is latched by pulling on latch tongue 3).
If the belt locks, pull back firmly and then unroll it again.
If your belt is completely locked, pull the belt slowly but firmly to extract about 3 cm.
Let it retract on its own, then unroll it again.
If the problem persists, consult a brand representative.
Unfastened seat belt warning
for front seats
It lights up on the central display when the engine starts. If the driver's or front passenger's seat belt is not fastened (when the seat is occupied) and the vehicle reaches approximately 20 km/h, it flashes and an audible signal sounds for about 2 minutes.
Note: an object placed on the front passenger seat may in some cases trigger the warning light.
Rear seat belt unfastened warning (depending on vehicle)
the ß warning light
The warning light illuminates on the central display, with a message on the instrument panel showing the number of belted seats, for about 30 seconds each time:
- vehicle start-up;
- opening of a door;
- fastening or unfastening of a rear seat belt.
Make sure rear passengers are properly belted and that the number of belted seats shown matches the number of occupied seats on the rear bench.

Front seat belt height adjustment
Use button 6 to adjust the belt height so that the shoulder strap 1 sits as shown previously. Press button 6 and raise or lower the belt. Once adjusted, make sure it is locked properly.
Unlatching
Press button 4; the belt is retracted by the retractor. Guide it back.

Rear side seat belts 7
Latching, unlatching and adjustment are carried out in the same way as for the front seat belts.

Rear centre seat belt
Slowly unroll webbing 9 from its housing, then engage latch plate 8 in the corresponding black buckle 11.

Engage sliding latch plate 10 in the corresponding red buckle 12.
Check the correct position and operation of the rear seat belts after each adjustment of the rear seat.
The following information applies to the front and rear seat belts of the vehicle.

- No modifications must be made to the original restraint system components: belts and seats, as well as their mountings. For special cases (e.g. installing a child seat), consult a brand Representative.
- Do not use devices that introduce slack into the straps (e.g. clothes pegs, clips, etc.), as a seat belt worn too loosely may cause injury in an accident.
- Never route the shoulder strap under your arm or behind your back.
- Do not use the same belt for more than one person, and never secure a baby or child on your lap with your belt.
- The belt must not be twisted.
- After an accident, have the belts checked and replaced if necessary. Likewise, have your belt replaced if it shows any damage.
- When refitting the rear bench, make sure the seat belt is repositioned correctly so that it can be used properly.
- Make sure the belt latch plate is inserted into the correct buckle.
- Make sure no objects are placed in the area of the belt locking mechanism that could interfere with its correct operation.
- Make sure the locking mechanism is correctly positioned (it must not be hidden, crushed, pressed against, etc. by people or objects).
