Deactivating and activating the front passenger airbag

Deactivating the front passenger airbags (for vehicles equipped with them)
To be able to install a child seat on the front passenger seat, you must deactivate the supplementary devices to the front passenger seat belt.

To deactivate the airbags: vehicle stationary, ignition off, push and turn the lock 1 to the OFF position.
Ignition on, make sure the indicator 2
is
lit on the central display and, depending on vehicle, that the message “Passenger airbag deactivated” is displayed.
This warning light stays on permanently to confirm that you can install a child seat.
Activating or deactivating the passenger airbag must be done with the vehicle stationary.
If the controls are operated while the vehicle is moving, the indicators
and
come on.
To restore the airbag status to match the position of the lock, switch the ignition off then back on.

DANGER
Due to the incompatibility between the deployment of the front passenger airbag and the positioning of a rear-facing child seat, NEVER use a rear-facing child restraint on a seat protected by an ACTIVATED AIRBAG placed in front of it. This may result in the DEATH of the CHILD or SERIOUS INJURY.

The markings on the dashboard and the labels A on each side of the passenger sun visor 3 (as in the label above) remind you of these instructions.

Activating the front passenger airbags
As soon as you remove the child seat from the front passenger seat, reactivate the airbags to ensure protection of the front passenger in the event of an impact.
To reactivate the airbags: vehicle stationary, ignition off, push and turn the lock 1 to the ON position.
Ignition on, make sure the indicator 2
is
off.
The supplementary devices to the front passenger seat belt are activated.

Operating faults
In the event of a fault with the front passenger airbag activation/deactivation system, installing a rear-facing child seat on the front seat is prohibited.
Installing any other passenger is not recommended.
Consult a brand representative as soon as possible.
