Driving the vehicle

Special cases

~1min read

If, with the engine in standby mode (traffic jam, stopped at traffic lights, etc.), the driver unfastens the seat belt, opens the driver's door or gets out of the seat, the ignition switches off automatically.

To restart the engine and activate the Stop and Start system, press the start button (see "Starting and stopping the engine" in chapter 2).

Special feature of automatic engine restart

For greater safety and comfort, once certain conditions are met, the engine may restart without any action by the driver. This happens in the following cases:

  • the outside temperature is too high or too low (below approx. 0°C or above approx. 30°C);
  • the "Clear view" function is on (see the "Automatic climate control" section in chapter 3);
  • the battery is not sufficiently charged;
  • vehicle speed exceeds 5 km/h;
  • repeated pressing of the brake pedal or need to use the braking system;
  • ...
In the event of an emergency stop, the engine can be restarted by pressing the clutch pedal, if the Stop and Start function is active.
