Diesel version specifics
Diesel engine speed
Diesel engines are fitted with an injection system with an electronic governor which prevents the engine speed from exceeding its limit, whatever gear is engaged.
Running out of fuel
After refuelling following complete fuel exhaustion, and provided the battery is well charged, you can restart normally.
However, if the engine does not start after a few seconds and several attempts, refer to the "Fuel tank" section in chapter 1.
Winter precautions
To avoid any problems in freezing conditions:
- make sure your battery is always well charged;
- never let the diesel level drop too low in the tank, to prevent water vapour condensation from accumulating at the bottom of the tank.
Vehicles with particulate filters

Vehicles with particulate filters
Depending on the vehicle, the particulate filter indicator 1 comes on to indicate a risk of the filter becoming saturated.
To clean the particulate filter, within 100 km of the message appearing, drive at an average speed of at least 40 km/h, in keeping with traffic conditions and speed limits, until the indicator goes off.
Stopping the vehicle before the indicator goes off may require you to repeat the operation.
for guidance only; in this case, cleaning can take up to 20 minutes.
If the
comes on at the same time, consult a Brand Representative promptly.
While driving, depending on the quality of the fuel used, white smoke may exceptionally appear.
This is due to the automatic cleaning of the particulate filter and has no effect on the vehicle's behaviour.
! Do not park or run the engine in places where flammable substances or materials such as grass or leaves may come into contact with a hot exhaust system.Test yourself
