CONTROLE

CHECKING

Check the axial play using a dial gauge mounted on the drum: 0 to 0.03 mm max.

REMOVAL

Remove:

  • the hub cap: tools Rou. 943 + Emb.

    880,

  • the drum (see corresponding section).

Remove from the drum:

  • the bearing retaining clip,
  • the bearing using a tube.

INSTALLATION

Using a tube and a press, fit the bearing until it bears against the shoulder.

Refit:

  • a new clip,
  • the drum onto the previously oiled spindle,
  • a new locknut and tighten it to torque,
  • the hub cap.

Adjust:

  • the linings by repeatedly applying the brake pedal,
  • the handbrake (see chapter 37 "Controls").
