Rear twist beam bushings
This operation is performed after removing the complete rear axle and separating the two arms.

REMOVAL
Remove from the female arm (left):
- the outer bushing (6) using tool T.Ar. 960,
- the inner bushing (7) using the small adapter of tool T.Ar. 960.

Grind the raceways on the male arm (right) with a straight grinder, taking care not to mark the tube.

Split the raceways with a chisel, then remove them.
Cut and remove the seal (5).

REFITTING
Fitting the needle bearings and raceways requires tool T.Ar. 960-05.

Refit:
- the small needle bearing onto mandrel (A),
- mandrel (A) into the tube, with mandrel (B) acting as a guide.

Press fit until mandrel (A) is flush with face (2) of mandrel (B).

Position:
- the large needle bearing onto mandrel (B),

- mandrel (B) into the tube, with mandrel (A) acting as a guide.

Press fit until mandrel (B) bears against the tube.

Remove mandrels (B) and (A).
Fit the new seal (5) onto the male tube.
The raceways have an entry chamfer on one side.
The installation direction must be observed: chamfer (4) must be oriented as shown in the drawing to keep sufficient support for pressing in.

Refit:
- the large raceway into sleeve (D),
- the sleeve (D) and (C) assembly onto the tube.

Press fit assembly (D) and (C) until sleeve (C) is flush with edge (3) of the tube.

Position:
- the small raceway in sleeve (C),
- sleeve (C) onto the tube, with sleeve (D) acting as a guide.

Press fit using a press until sleeve (C) is flush with edge (3) of the tube.

Remove sleeves (C) and (D)
IMPORTANT
When pressing in, if support was taken on the axle mounting bearings, make sure the suspension bars are correctly seated in their anchorages (risk of displacement).
Recentre them if necessary.
Assemble the two axle halves.
NOTE: it is not necessary to grease the needle bearings, as they are supplied pre-greased from the factory.
Then reconnect and refit the rear axle to the vehicle (see corresponding section).
