Rear twist beam half-arm

REMOVAL
Vehicle on a two-post lift, remove:
- the anti-roll bar,
- the lower shock absorber mounting,
- the secondary handbrake cable by disconnecting it at the central control under the vehicle,
- the brake hose,
- the two bearing bracket mounting nuts (A).

Loosen the two nuts (A) on the other bearing bracket to free the half-arm to be removed from its mountings.
Remove the half-arm by separating it from the other.
INSTALLATION
Check that the raceways or needle bearings are in perfect condition; otherwise, replace them (see section “Rear twist beam bushings”).
The needle bearings are greased at the factory, so there is no need to regrease them.
NOTE: new arms supplied by the M.P.R. are fitted with raceways or needle bearings (depending on dimension).
Engage the two half-arms into each other until dimension (B) is obtained.
NOTE: dimension (B) is the distance between the two identical anti-roll bar mounting points on the arms. This dimension can therefore be obtained by fitting the anti-roll bar in its housing and checking that its mounting bolts are correctly installed. Observe its installation direction.

Then reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE: when replacing the half-arm, apply Loctite FRENBLOC to the brake backing plate mounting bolts.
Bleed the brake circuit.
Adjust the handbrake control (see chapter 37).
