Injection fault warning light

~1min read

PRINCIPLE OF INJECTION FAULT WARNING LIGHT ON DASHBOARD

  • Vehicle without immobiliser system

When the ignition is switched on, the light comes on steadily for 3 seconds, then goes off.

  • Vehicle with immobiliser system deactivated

When the ignition is switched on, the injection warning light comes on steadily for 3 seconds, then goes off.

When the doors are unlocked, the red immobiliser indicator, previously flashing, goes off. When the ignition is switched on, it comes on steadily for 3 seconds, then goes off.

  • Vehicle with immobiliser system active

When the ignition is switched on, the ECU does not recognise the code and prevents starting. The injection warning light comes on steadily for 3 seconds, then goes off.

Before the ignition is switched on, the red immobiliser indicator flashes. When the ignition is switched on, the same indicator flashes at a faster rate.

If an immobiliser system fault is detected with the engine running, the injection warning light flashes in the operating range between idle and approx. 1,500 rpm.

  • Failure of an injection system component

The warning light comes on when a fault is detected on:

  • pressure sensor,
  • vehicle speed,
  • throttle potentiometer,
  • idle speed control stepper motor.
