Idle speed correction
POWER STEERING PRESSURE SWITCH - INJECTION CONTROL UNIT LINK
The injection control unit receives a signal from the power steering pressure switch. This depends on the pressure in the hydraulic circuit. The higher the pressure, the more energy the power steering pump absorbs.
To compensate for this energy absorption, the injection control unit increases the opening percentage of the idle speed control stepper motor.
The signal is received on pin 13 of the injection control unit. With the switch closed, the control unit receives an earth. Idle speed is raised to 800 rpm for the D7F engine and 850 rpm for the E7J engine.
IDLE SPEED CORRECTION DEPENDING ON BATTERY VOLTAGE
This correction compensates for the voltage drop caused by switching on consumers when the battery is weakly charged. To do this, idle speed is increased, which increases alternator rotation and therefore the charging voltage.
The lower the voltage, the greater the correction, so the speed correction is variable. It starts when the voltage drops below 12.7 volts. The correction starts from the nominal speed and can reach a maximum of 880 rpm for the D7F engine and 930 rpm for the E7J engine.
IDLE SPEED CORRECTION DEPENDING ON A/C
The injection ECU increases the idle speed to 850 rpm for the D7F engine and 880 rpm for the E7J engine if it receives the accelerated idle speed signal from the air conditioning control unit.
