Emergency brake assist is a system that complements the anti-lock braking system.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE

Emergency brake assist allows the system to recognise the situation and acts instantly to provide the shortest possible stopping distance.

Emergency braking is detected according to the speed at which the brake pedal is depressed; in this situation, the brake assist instantly develops its maximum power.

For normal braking, the system operates conditionally.

Emergency brake assist is a mechanical system integrated into the brake booster and completely independent of any electronic component.

The booster has a magnet that locks the control body when the pedal is depressed quickly.
