Tightening torques
battery cover screw 0.4 daN.m

REMOVAL

  • Disconnect the battery, starting with the negative terminal.

  • Remove the complete external control.
WARNING

Replacing the gate cable requires no adjustment; do not touch the adjustment system (1) on the selector cable.

  • Peel off the flat gasket.

  • Remove the four mounting screws.
  • Open the control unit housing.

  • Disconnect the cable from the ball joint (2).
  • Remove the cable sheath retaining clip (3).
  • Remove the cable.

INSTALLATION

  • Refit in the reverse order of removal.
  • Stick a new flat gasket onto the control unit housing.
WARNING

Strictly follow the method for routing the cables onto the gearshift levers (see Mechanical Controls chapter).

  • Check that all gears engage correctly before starting the engine.
WARNING

Connect the battery; carry out the necessary relearn procedures (Chapter Battery).

  • Torque the battery cover screws (0.4 daN.m).
