This part can be replaced in three ways:

  • complete: combined with the front foot reinforcement for a side impact,
  • partial: along cut (a), combined with the partial fender side panel reinforcement for a frontal impact,
  • partial: along cut (b), combined with the complete fender side panel replacement for a frontal impact.

The combination of cuts is selected according to the deformation (typical examples are given at the end of the chapter).

WARNING

The cut positions given in the procedures must not be offset; they are determined by the positions of the liners and reinforcements, except for cuts (b, b') and (d, d'), which may be offset depending on the damage caused by the impact.

In the method described below, you will only find the descriptions and joins specific to the part concerned.

Information on related parts is covered in their respective sections (see contents).

Note: If the spot welds cannot be made with the spot welder, they may be replaced with plug welds.

Partial rear or complete replacement

Côté d'auvent
Note: Complete replacement of the fender side panel is combined with the front foot reinforcement. For a very localised impact, it is possible to carry out a partial replacement of the rear section, which avoids working on the front of the vehicle.
