Configurations and teachings
AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL MODULE CONFIGURATION:
The automatic climate control module has 2 configuration services. These configurations are performed after replacing the module.
These two configurations are important because they allow the cabin thermal comfort to be optimised (better management of the automatic air conditioning). If they are not correctly entered, the production of cold and hot air will be seriously degraded (example: the cabin air heating resistors will not switch on).
These configurations are accessible in repair mode of the diagnostic tool and can only be entered in ECU diagnostic mode, not in function diagnostic mode.
Checking that the configurations have been correctly taken into account is also carried out in repair mode of the diagnostic tool, using the configuration readings. These configuration readings are accessible in both ECU diagnostic mode and function diagnostic mode.
- The first configuration is called CF044 "Vehicle type". This configuration is used to enter the body type on which the air conditioning ECU is fitted (J84 / R84 for Mégane Scénic and Scénic 4-wheel drive, and OTHER X84 for all other Méganes). The configuration reading is called LC013 "Vehicle type".
- The second configuration is called CF117 "Cabin heating resistor type". This configuration is used to enter the type of cabin air heating resistors fitted to the vehicle. There are three possibilities: "NONE" for vehicles not fitted with resistors, "1000 W" and "1800 W".
Heating resistors are mainly fitted to vehicles equipped with Diesel engines.
They are located in the ventilation - air distribution housing (left-hand side), next to the heater matrix. The label stuck on the resistor housing (with the part reference) indicates whether they are 1000 W or 1800 W resistors (NOTE: 1800 W resistors are mainly fitted to Mégane Scénic). The configuration reading is called: LC043 "Heating resistor".
NOTE: In function diagnostic mode, the diagnostic tool also allows the configuration readings of the other ECUs taking part in the air conditioning function to be viewed. All configurations of the air conditioning function (from the Injection ECU, the Cabin Central Unit ECU and the Protection and Switching Unit ECU) are listed in chapter 62A "Air conditioning".
LEARNING PROCEDURE (self-calibration) OF THE MIX AND DISTRIBUTION MOTORS:
There is no specific learning operation for the mix motor and the distribution motor.
However, these motors need to learn their end stops (minimum and maximum). This operation is automatic and takes place in the following cases:
- after replacing a motor (mix or distribution),
- after a battery disconnection or after disconnecting the air conditioning ECU power supply fuse,
- if a fault, reported present when the ignition was switched off, disappears when the ignition is switched on again.
IMPORTANT: For this learning to run correctly, the cabin blower motor must be stopped (speed setpoint 0).
