If the ECU has been replaced (at the request of the Techline): redo the ECU configurations (see the chapter "Configurations and Learning").

Deal with any other faults.

DF007 PRESENT OR STORED INTERIOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT

CC.0: Short circuit to earth
CO.1: Open circuit or short circuit to + 12 V

INSTRUCTIONS

Conditions for applying the diagnosis on a stored fault: Apply this diagnosis if the fault reappears as present or stored following:

  • switch the ignition on and request air conditioning activation.

Special features: The interior temperature sensor (combined with a small fan) is located at the top of the roof, in the housing under the rear-view mirror.

Check the connection and condition of the interior temperature sensor connector.

Replace the connector if necessary.

With the ignition on (+ after "forced" ignition: see "preliminaries"), make sure the temperature sensor fan operates correctly.

If it does not operate, check for +12 V on pin 1 of the temperature sensor connector and earth on pin 3.

If the fan supply is correct and the fan does not operate, replace the assembly: sensors + fan (the fan is not sold separately).

Disconnect the 12-way connector A of the air conditioning ECU in order to check insulation, continuity and absence of parasitic resistance of the wiring:

ECU connector A pin 5 → Pin 4 of the interior temperature sensor
ECU connector A pin 12 → Pin 5 of the interior temperature sensor
→ Pin 1 of the solar sensor

Repair if necessary.

Check the resistance of the sensor between pin 4 and pin 5 of the interior temperature sensor connector. Replace the sensor if the resistance is not 10 kΩ ±500 Ω at 25 °C (for greater accuracy, refer to the electrical characteristics of the sensor as a function of temperature in the "Help" chapter).
If the fault persists, replace the interior temperature sensor.

AFTER REPAIR

If the ECU has been replaced (at the request of the Techline): redo the ECU configurations (see the chapter "Configurations and Learning").

Deal with any other faults.

DF010 PRESENT OR STORED BLEND DOOR MOTOR CIRCUIT

CO.0: Open circuit or short to ground
CC.1: Short to +12 V

INSTRUCTIONS

Conditions for applying the stored fault diagnosis: The fault is declared present after:

  • Climate control panel switched on and operate the temperature control (request minimum or maximum temperature).

Special features:

  • After the fault has been repaired (when the fault changes from "present" to "stored"), wait 1 minute before the climate control module can drive the distribution motor. To avoid this delay, switch the ignition off and then back on.
  • There is no specific learning procedure for the blend door motor. However, after replacing it, the motor must learn its end stops (minimum and maximum).
Check the connection and condition of the blend door motor connector.

Replace the connector if necessary.

Disconnect connector B (18-way) from the climate control module to check the insulation, continuity and absence of parasitic resistance in the wiring:

For all Mégane vehicles:

Module connector B pin 18 → Blend door motor pin 4
Module connector B pin 8 → Blend door motor pin 2
→ Distribution motor pin 2
Module connector B pin 16 → Blend door motor pin 6

For Mégane vehicles other than Scénic:

Module connector B pin 17 → Blend door motor pin 3
Module connector B pin 15 → Blend door motor pin 1

For Mégane Scénic vehicles:

Module connector B pin 17 → Blend door motor pin 1
Module connector B pin 15 → Blend door motor pin 3

Repair if necessary.

With the climate control module connector connected and ignition on (+ after "forced" ignition: see "Preliminaries"), check for a 12 V supply on pin 2 of the blend door motor connector. If the supply is not present and the continuity checks have not revealed any faulty wiring, contact your Techline.
With the connector disconnected, check the resistance value of the blend door motor by measuring between:

pin 2 and pin 1 of the blend door motor connector,
pin 2 and pin 3 of the blend door motor connector,
pin 2 and pin 4 of the blend door motor connector,
pin 2 and pin 6 of the blend door motor connector.

All four readings must be 100 Ω ±5 Ω at 20 °C. If not, replace the blend door motor.

If the problem persists, with the blend door motor removed and electrically connected, command the motor from the control panel using the temperature buttons: set the temperature to full hot "27˚" (100% value), then set the temperature to full cold "15˚" (0% value). The motor must move in both directions.

If the wiring checked previously is correct but the motor does not move during the commands, replace the blend door motor.

If the commands were carried out correctly, make sure the blend door flap is not jammed by trying to move the gear.

Repair if necessary.

If the fault persists, replace the blend door motor.

AFTER REPAIR

Clear the stored faults.

Run the test to confirm the repair.

If the motor has been replaced, refer to the "Configurations and Learning" chapter.

Deal with any other faults.

DF012 PRESENT OR STORED DISTRIBUTION MOTOR CIRCUIT

CO.0: Open circuit or short to ground. CC.1: Short to +12 V.

INSTRUCTIONS

Conditions for applying the stored fault diagnosis: The fault is declared present after:

  • Climate control panel switched on and operate the distribution control (select defrost, ventilation, footwell, etc.).

Special features:

  • After the fault has been repaired (when the fault changes from "present" to "stored"), wait 1 minute before the climate control module can drive the distribution motor. To avoid this delay, switch the ignition off and then back on.
  • There is no specific learning procedure for the distribution motor. However, after replacing it, the motor must learn its end stops (minimum and maximum).
Check the connection and condition of the distribution motor connector.

Replace the connector if necessary.

Disconnect connector B (18-way) from the climate control module to check the insulation, continuity and absence of parasitic resistance in the wiring:

Module connector B pin 11 → Distribution motor pin 1
Module connector B pin 12 → Distribution motor pin 6
Module connector B pin 13 → Distribution motor pin 3
Module connector B pin 14 → Distribution motor pin 4
Module connector B pin 8 → Distribution motor pin 2
→ Blend door motor pin 2

Repair if necessary.

With the climate control module connector connected and ignition on (climate control panel switched on), check for a 12 V supply on pin 2 of the distribution motor connector. If the supply is not present and the continuity checks have not revealed any faulty wiring, contact your Techline.
With the connector disconnected, check the resistance value of the distribution motor by measuring between:

pin 2 and pin 1 of the distribution motor connector,
pin 2 and pin 3 of the distribution motor connector,
pin 2 and pin 4 of the distribution motor connector,
pin 2 and pin 6 of the distribution motor connector.

All four readings must be 100 Ω ±5 Ω at 20 °C. If not, replace the distribution motor.

If the problem persists, with the distribution motor removed and electrically connected, command the motor from the control panel using the distribution buttons: set the distribution to the "demist" position (100% value), then set the distribution to the "vent" position (0% value). The motor must move in both directions.

If the wiring checked previously is correct but the motor does not move during the commands, replace the distribution motor.

If the commands were carried out correctly, make sure the distribution flap is not jammed by trying to move the gear.

Repair if necessary.

If the fault persists, replace the distribution motor.

AFTER REPAIR

Clear the stored faults.

Run the test to confirm the repair.

If the motor has been replaced, refer to the "Configurations and Learning" chapter.

Carry out diagnosis of any other faults.

DF021 PRESENT OR STORED RECIRCULATION MOTOR CIRCUIT

CO: Open circuit
CC.0: Short to ground
CC.1: Short to +12 V

INSTRUCTIONS

Conditions for applying the stored fault diagnosis: The fault is declared present after:

  • Climate control panel switched on and operate the recirculation control (select "recirculation" to close the flap or "outside air" to open the flap).

Special features: Automatic climate control does not have automatic recirculation. However, in extreme temperatures (above 35 °C) and when the air conditioning is switched on, the recirculation flap moves to recirculation mode to bring the cabin up to temperature more quickly.

Check the connection and condition of the recirculation motor connector.

Replace the connector if necessary.

Disconnect connector B (18-way) from the climate control module to check the insulation, continuity and absence of parasitic resistance in the wiring:

ECU connector B pin 10 → Recirculation motor pin 6
ECU connector B pin 1 → Recirculation motor pin 5

Check the resistance of the recirculation motor by measuring between pin 5 and pin 6 of the recirculation motor connector. Replace the motor if the resistance is not 35 Ω ± 5 Ω at 20 °C.
If the fault persists, remove the cowl grille under the windscreen to view the recirculation flap. Run a recirculation command by pressing the key on the air conditioning control panel: the flap must close.

During the command, the flap must be seen closing. Make sure that during the command the recirculation motor flap closes without hard spots or jamming.

Repair if necessary.

If the fault persists, replace the recirculation motor.

AFTER REPAIR

Clear the stored faults.

Run the test to confirm the repair.

Carry out diagnosis of any other faults.

DF026 PRESENT OR STORED SUN SENSOR CIRCUIT

CC.0: Short circuit to earth
CO.1: Open circuit or short circuit to + 12 V

INSTRUCTIONS

Conditions for applying the stored fault diagnosis: Apply this diagnosis if the fault reappears as present or stored following:

  • erasing the fault, switching the ignition off and on.

Special features: The sun sensor (small black disc) is located on the top of the dashboard, on the windscreen side.

Make sure the sun sensor is not "masked" by an object (nothing must be placed on the sensor).
Check the connection and condition of the sun sensor connector.

Replace the connector if necessary.

Disconnect the 12-way connector A of the air conditioning ECU in order to check insulation, continuity and absence of parasitic resistance of the wiring:

ECU connector A pin 4 → Sun sensor pin 2
ECU connector A pin 12 → Sun sensor pin 1
→ Pin 5 of the interior temperature sensor

Repair if necessary.

Ignition on, sun sensor electrically connected and air conditioning panel switched on, make sure the sun sensor supplies a voltage (signal) to the air conditioning ECU.

To find the voltage the sensor must supply according to the sunlight level, refer to the interpretation of this parameter (section "Parameter interpretation").

If the fault persists, replace the sun sensor.

AFTER REPAIR

Clear the stored faults.

Deal with any other faults.
