PROCEDURE

Heated Fuel Filter 1 – fuel supply hose fitting from tank; 2 – fuel line fitting to fuel pump; 3 – fuel return hose fitting from fuel pump; 4 – spring retainer; 5 – valve; 6 – fuel return hose fitting to tank

The fuel filter must be replaced every 30,000 km. PROCEDURE 1. Clean the fuel lines at the filter and disconnect them, loosening the clamps beforehand. 2. If the fuel filter is heated, remove the spring retainer 4 and, without disconnecting the hoses from fittings 3 and 6, remove valve 5. 3. Unscrew the fuel filter together with the bracket. 4. Remove the bracket from the filter and install it on the new filter. 5. Install the filter with the bracket so that the arrows on the filter point toward the front of the vehicle. 6. Connect the fuel lines to fittings 1 and 2. 7. If the fuel filter is heated, install valve 5 in place and secure it with spring retainer 4.
