Bosch fuel injection pump. Maximum engine speed can be adjusted only on pumps manufactured before September 1985. PROCEDURE 1. Warm up the engine. Engine oil temperature must be 50–70° C. 2. Connect a diagnostic tachometer to terminal "W" of the alternator (shown by the arrow in the figure Alternator terminal "W"). 3. Start the engine, fully depress the accelerator pedal and hold it in this position. 4. Adjust the engine speed with screw 4 (see figure Bosch fuel injection pump control linkage). Maximum engine speed must be 5100±100 min-1 for JR, RA, SB engines and 5350±100 min-1 for JP and 1V engines. 5. Secure screw 4 with paint. CAV fuel injection pump

PROCEDURE 1. Warm up the engine. Engine oil temperature must be not lower than 80° C. 2. Connect a diagnostic tachometer to terminal "W" of the alternator (shown by the arrow in the figure Alternator terminal "W"). 3. Start the engine, fully depress the accelerator pedal and hold it in this position. 4. Adjust the maximum engine speed with bolt 2 after loosening locknut 1. Engine speed must be within 5350±50 min-1.

5. Tighten locknut 1.
