Air distribution in the vehicle interior

Air distribution in the Volvo S80 (2nd generation, 2013–2016) provides even fresh air throughout the interior by means of a well-designed system of air vents. This section explains automatic and manual control as well as the functions of the vents in the dashboard and the pillars. Special notes cover correct alignment of the airflow to prevent fogging or to increase rear-seat comfort. This ensures a pleasant climate in all weather conditions.

The incoming air is distributed through a series of different air vents in the vehicle interior.

In AUTO mode, air distribution is fully automatic.

If the outer vents are directed at the side windows, fogging can be removed.

If the vents are directed at the windows, fogging can be removed in cold weather.

If the vents are directed into the vehicle interior, pleasant temperatures are maintained for rear-seat passengers in warm weather.

Remember that small children can be sensitive to airflow and draft.

The figure consists of three buttons. When one of the buttons is pressed, the corresponding part of the figure lights up on the display (see illustration below), and an arrow in front of the respective part of the figure indicates which air distribution is selected.
