PROCEDURE

Remove the spark plug connectors and pull the high-tension leads out of the retaining clips.

Remove the fuel distribution rail together with all injectors (refer to chapter MPI/MPFI Injection System).

Remove the intake air hose.

Remove the idle air control valve or disconnect the connector.

Remove all vacuum hoses/crankcase ventilation hoses from the intake manifold and throttle body.

Disconnect the accelerator cable and the throttle position potentiometer connector.

Loosen the bolts in the reverse of the sequence shown in the illustration above.

Remove the intake manifold together with the throttle body.

Installation: replace the gaskets.

Tighten the intake manifold bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration above in four stages: Stage 1: 5 N·m; stage 2: 10 N·m; stage 3: 20 N·m; stage 4: 20 N·m again.
