Lubrication System - Dynamic Oil Pressure Monitoring
GENERAL INFORMATION
If the oil pressure warning lamp flashes and the buzzer sounds while driving, the possible causes are:
1. Oil level too low
2. Fault in the electrical part of the switch and warning lamp
3. Oil pump not supplying oil
4. Crankshaft bearing damage
In this case, first stop the engine immediately and check the oil level. Top up the oil if necessary. Then start the engine and run it at idle. The warning lamp must go out. Increase engine speed above 1500 rpm. The warning lamp must not flash and the buzzer must not sound. If these conditions are met, you may continue driving.
If the oil level is normal and further checking is not possible, do not continue driving under any circumstances. Tow the vehicle and check the oil pressure.
If the oil pressure is normal, check the oil pressure switch and the electrical wiring. At a service station, the engine control warning lamp on the instrument panel can also be checked.
