About this Owner's Manual

Tachometer

~1min read

The tachometer indicates the engine speed in revolutions per minute.

When the engine speed is below 1,500 rpm, it is recommended to shift down to the next lower gear. The start of the red zone on the tachometer marks the maximum permitted engine speed for each gear for a run-in engine at normal operating temperature. It is recommended to shift up, move the selector lever to "D", or ease off the accelerator before the needle reaches this zone.

Warning!

The tachometer needle, Fig. 2 (2), should remain in the red zone of the scale only briefly: risk of engine damage. The start of the red zone on the tachometer depends on the engine type.

Environment

If you shift up early enough, you can save fuel and reduce engine operating noise.
