To remove the wheel, the vehicle must be lifted with the jack.

  • Locate the jacking point closest to the defective wheel on the sill => Fig. 244 -arrows-.
  • Place the jack under the jacking point and raise the jack arm by turning the crank until the jack claw is directly under the vertical rib of the sill.
  • Adjust the jack so that its claw surrounds the sill rib => Fig. 245 (A) and the movable base (B) of the jack rests flat on the ground.
  • Continue raising the jack arm by turning the crank until the wheel no longer touches the ground.

Marks on the sill of the vehicle at the front and rear indicate the jacking points, Fig. 244 (arrows). There is one specific jacking point for each wheel. Do not place the jack at any other location.

The distance between the jacking point and the wheel arch is approx. 23 cm for the front wheels and approx. 28 cm for the rear wheels.

If the ground is soft, the vehicle may slip off the jack. For this reason, place the jack on firm ground. Use a sufficiently large and stable base. If the ground is slippery, such as tiles, use a non-slip base (e.g. a rubber mat).

CAUTION!

  • Take the necessary measures to prevent the jack from slipping - risk of injury!
  • If you do not place the jack at the designated points, you risk damaging the vehicle. In addition, the jack may slip if it is not correctly positioned under the vehicle - risk of injury.
