Your vehicle may be equipped at the factory with a steel spare wheel. Due to its design (rim/tire dimensions, rubber compound, tread pattern, etc.), the spare wheel generally does not offer the same driving characteristics as the other wheels on the vehicle. For this reason, you must observe the following restrictions:

  • The steel spare wheel is approved only for your vehicle type and must only be fitted to your vehicle.
  • When the steel spare wheel is fitted, the road handling characteristics of your vehicle are changed.
  • The steel spare wheel must only be used temporarily and for a short period of time after a puncture. Replace it with a normal wheel as soon as possible.
  • If the dimensions of the spare wheel differ from those of the other wheels on the vehicle, it may not be possible to fit snow chains to the steel spare wheel.

CAUTION!

  • After fitting the steel spare wheel, check the tire pressure as soon as possible. Adjust the tire pressure to the vehicle load using the tire pressure table - risk of accident! Inflate the tire to the highest pressure shown in the table.
  • Do not drive faster than 80 km/h - risk of accident!
  • Avoid full-throttle acceleration and hard braking, and do not take corners at high speed - risk of accident!
