Frequently asked questions

~5min read

The information below covers the answers to the questions most frequently asked about the system.

Radio

The reception quality of the radio station being listened to gradually deteriorates, or the stored stations do not work (no sound, 87.5 MHz is displayed...).

The vehicle is too far from the transmitter of the station being listened to, or there is no transmitter in the geographic area being travelled through.

► Activate the "RDS" function from the top banner, so that the system can check whether a more powerful transmitter is in the geographic area.

The environment (hill, building, tunnel, underground car park...) blocks reception, including in RDS tracking mode.

This phenomenon is normal and does not indicate a fault in the radio.

The antenna is missing or has been damaged (for example after passing through a car wash or in an underground car park).

► Have the antenna checked by a Brand dealer.

I cannot find certain radio stations in the list of received stations.

The name of the radio station has changed.

The station is no longer received, or its name has changed in the list.

► Press the circular arrow in the "List" tab of the "Radio" page.

Some radio stations send other information instead of their name (for example the song title).

The system interprets this data as the name of the station.

► Press the circular arrow in the "List" tab of the "Radio" page.

Media

Playback from my USB key starts after an excessively long time (about 2 to 3 minutes).

Some files supplied with the key can greatly slow down access to playback from the key (cataloguing time multiplied by 10).

► Delete the files supplied with the key and limit the number of subfolders in the key's folder structure.

Some characters in the information of the media currently playing are not displayed correctly.

The audio system cannot process certain types of character.

► Use standard characters to name tracks and folders.

Playback of files via streaming does not start.

The connected device does not allow playback to start automatically.

► Start playback from the device.

Track names and playback time are not displayed on the screen during audio streaming.

The Bluetooth profile does not allow this information to be transferred.

Phone

I cannot connect my Bluetooth phone.

The phone's Bluetooth may be switched off or the device may not be visible.

► Check that the phone's Bluetooth is turned on.

► Check in the phone settings that it is set to "Visible to all".

The Bluetooth phone is not compatible with the system.

► Check phone compatibility on the brand website (services).

Android Auto and/or CarPlay do not work.

Android Auto and CarPlay may not activate if the USB cables are of poor quality.

► Use official USB cables to ensure proper operation.

Android Auto and/or CarPlay do not work.

Android Auto and CarPlay are not available in all countries.

► Check the list of supported countries on the Google Android Auto or Apple websites.

The sound from the phone connected via Bluetooth is inaudible.

The sound depends on both the system and the phone.

► Increase the radio volume, up to maximum if necessary, and increase the phone volume if needed.

Ambient noise affects the quality of phone calls.

► Reduce ambient noise (close the windows, reduce the ventilation, slow down, etc.).

The contacts are not sorted in alphabetical order.

Some phones offer display options. Depending on the settings selected, the contacts may be transferred in a specific order.

► Change the phone directory display settings.

Settings

Changing the treble and bass settings deselects the sound ambience.

Changing the sound ambience resets the treble and bass settings to zero.

Selecting a sound ambience overrides the treble and bass settings, and vice versa.

► Change the treble and bass settings or the sound ambience setting to obtain the desired sound environment.

Changing the balance settings deselects the fader setting.

Changing the fader setting deselects the balance settings.

Selecting a fader setting overrides the balance settings, and vice versa.

► Change the balance settings or the fader setting to obtain the desired sound environment.

There is a difference in sound quality between the different audio sources.

To ensure optimum listening quality, the audio settings may be adjusted for each audio source, which may cause audible differences when changing source.

► Check that the audio settings are suitable for the source being listened to. It is recommended to set the audio functions to the middle position.

With the engine off, the system switches off after several minutes of use.

When the engine is off, the operating time of the system depends on the battery charge level.

This shutdown is normal: the system switches to energy saving mode and turns off in order to preserve the vehicle battery.

► Start the vehicle engine to increase the battery charge.
