Tyre pressure
In this manual: Practical advice
~1min read
Observe the tyre pressures (including the spare wheel). Check them at least once a month and before every long journey (see the label on the driver's door).
Pressure that is too low may lead to premature wear and overheating of the tyres, and have a negative effect on driving safety:- reduced grip of the tyre on the road surface,
- risk of the tyre cracking or the tread being damaged,
Check the pressure when the tyres are cold. Do not take into account higher pressure values that may occur in hot weather or after a long journey at high speed.
If it is not possible to check the pressure when the tyres are cold, increase the recommended pressure by 0.2 to 0.3 bar above the nominal value.
Never release air from hot tyres.
Warning: a missing or incorrectly tightened valve cap may reduce the airtightness of the tyres and cause the pressure to drop. Always use valve caps identical to the original ones and tighten them fully.Wheel rotation
This procedure should not be carried out.
Spare Tire
See the sections "Spare wheel" and "Changing a wheel" in chapter 5.
Replacing tyres
For safety reasons, this operation should be carried out only by a specialist. Fitting tyres that do not comply with the above recommendations may also lead to:- the vehicle not complying with applicable regulations;
- changes in the vehicle's behaviour when cornering;
- difficulties in steering manoeuvres;
- difficulties in fitting snow chains.
