What is the Hill Start Assist System
The Hill Start Assist system makes it easier to pull away when your vehicle is on a slope without using the parking brake.
How the Hill Start Assist System Works
When the system is activated, your vehicle remains stationary for several seconds after you release the brake pedal. This gives you time to move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal. The brakes release when the engine develops enough torque to keep your vehicle from rolling down the slope.
